The pace of response is influenced by temperature, surface territory, fixation and impetuses. These are the influencing factors. In a response, the particles of the reagent must meet up and crash before the response can happen. This is known as the crash hypothesis, particles must crash previously they can respond, and the impacting particles must contain enough vitality to make bonds brake. We will right off the bat spread the measuring glass with card, departing a 2cm hole at the base of the measuring glass to permit light to go through the arrangement. Furthermore we would place the 'loggits' light meter straightforwardly over the measuring glass (the meter will have its base portion secured with the card to forestall any outsider light from influencing the light power of the light passing through the water) Starter: After the principal preliminary we needed to change the manner by which we secured the measuring utencil with the dark card since we found that the measure of light going through the arrangement from all points was wild, since we were utilizing a characteristic wellspring of light (the sun). Rather than leaving a 1cm hole from the base of the measuring utencil, our answer was to spread the entire measuring utencil and cut 2 curves, with the goal that we could coordinate the required measure of light into the particular region of the container. Also we will utilize a light, secured with 2 sheets of A4 paper to accomplish a consistent wellspring of light. The Initial light power perusing will be somewhere in the range of 40% and 45%. Answer: Presentation: Nepean clinic is a greatest emergency clinic in blue mountain locale with 520 bed and covers different fortes, for example, clinical, careful, mental , pediatric and palliative consideration. I will be working Ambulatory methodology place (APC) ward. Most of the patient in this ward is conceded with regular crisis careful condition, for example, a ruptured appendix, cholecystitis, diverticulitis and gut block and a large portion of them are self mindful. It is extremely quick paced ward and we need to manage IV anti-microbials and torment drug. The focal point of my prescription sla venture is legitimate documentation of known hypersensitivity and patient;s unfavorable medication response in the medicine outline. I will propose my task by planning banner introduction and demonstrating it to other wellbeing laborers in the ward. Clinical proof proposes that unfriendly medication response is one of the main factor to build death rate and increment patients length of remain in emergency clinic. Moreover, there has been proof where patients sensitivity documentation is missed, and their wellbeing decay by giving the medication which they are susceptible to. Hence, the result of SLA is to forestall such unfavorably susceptible and unfriendly medication response by legitimate documentation in prescription graph. The reason and points of the Med-SLA Some ongoing cases had been accounted for in the ward, which had raised countless worries among the higher specialists with respect to the security of the patients in the hands of the new alumni attendants. As of late a patient had been given decongestants because of unfavorably susceptible responses that were not had the option to be constrained by antihistamines. Nonetheless, while surveying her indispensable signs in the later piece of the day, her circulatory strain was seen as higher. The medical caretaker in this manner believed that it was important to make her circulatory strain go under control. Subsequently, without deduction much, she gave the patient an antihypertensive medication, which treats hypertension. Anyway she didn't know about the outcomes that there brings about a concentrated medication tranquilize collaboration when decongestants and antihypertensive are accepted together as it brings about further increment in the circulatory strain levels causing potentatio n. Her coach, who promptly dealt with this condition, forestalled any further danger to the patient. Another comparable episode occurred on account of patient who was conceded because of a contamination in her digestive organs. She was endorses antibiotic medication by the specialist so as to battle the hurtful microscopic organisms in her digestion tracts. The medical caretaker at that point gave her morning meal containing milk, egg and natural products. The medical caretaker was anyway had no clue about the association that calcium ordinarily has with that of antibiotic medication. She didn't have a clue about that calcium diminishes the impacts of antibiotic medication wrecking the potential impacts of antibiotic medication. All these had concerned the higher specialists and the patients and their relatives about the wellbeing medications that the attendants give which thus are having negative impacts in the patients. A medication sedate connection is a circumstance when a substance just as some other medication can influence the exhibition of another medication when directed together to a patient. The activity that outcomes can be of three distinct sorts. It very well may be either synergistic when the impact of the later medication is expanded. It can likewise bring about adversarial impacts which brings about the impact of the later medication being decreased. Thirdly, it might likewise bring about the inception of another sort of impact, which is totally not quite the same as the activity of every one of the medications that collaborated (Vallerand, Sanoski and Deglin, 2016). These sorts of associations frequently end up being destructive for the patient bringing about undermining the life of the patient who had wanted assistance. Another significant circumstance that has gone to the notification of the authority is the absence of giving legitimate medication to the patients. The attendants are not counseling their clinical history before recommending any medications. This thusly is bringing about the event of various hypersensitivities in certain patients, which improves the unfavorable circumstances for the patient creation them endure more (Lewis et al. 2015). Patients regularly require different meds in instances of their intricate maladies or scatters that they are experiencing. In any case, after basically examining the side effect group of the patient, it is an obligation of the attendant to write down the clinical history of the patient so as to know whether they are experiencing any past ailments or not and the drugs they take all the time (Wang et al. 2016). Documentation of such prescription is significant so the attendant build up a fundamental information about the meds she ought to maintain a strategic distance from. Furthermore, the attendant herself ought to have a point by point thought regarding the foundations and the elements of various medicine that bring about medication tranquilize communication as well as result in sensitivities in the patients. These kinds of events causes diminished remedial impacts of the great prescriptions, expanded unfriendly response and patient mischief. It likewise brings about a general negat ive effect on the notoriety of an association serving for mankind (Lehne and Rosenthal, 2014). The Australian nursing and birthing assistance board has expressed the significance of keep up wellbeing conventions while giving prescriptions to the patients. It typically anticipates that each attendant should be dependable enough to the consider the various elements of the prescriptions with the goal that they can assess whether any collaboration would happen or not. In addition, they ought to likewise think about the half-existence of the fixings in cases on the off chance that they need to regulate two inverse medications with the goal that they don't will in general respond in the patient. Besides, they additionally will in general consider the bioavailability and pinnacle level of every one of the prescriptions that they are regulating (Muraro et al. 2014). The standard 4 or drug wellbeing that had been proposed by the states in point number 5 under point 4.9 in the executives activities of medications and usage techniques guarantees that they give current just as exact meds data alongside choice supporting apparatuses to the attendants. These are done to enable the attendants to settle on clinical choice successfully which stays identified with restorative use. The executives of burrowed cooperation databases is likewise proposed by them to be a significant measures that ought to be kept up by the medical attendants. As recommended techniques, they have expressed the use of choice help apparatuses that go with electronic medication the executives frameworks like superseding of dynamic alarms for sedate associations, contraindications, quiet hypersensitivity cautions in endorsing and too a s in apportioning frameworks. Subsequently, the primary point of the venture of the MED SLA is to create information on the various medical attendants about the idea of medical caretaker collaboration. Its point is make the medical attendants mindful of the various advances that they may need to decrease odds of medication collaboration in their training and make their organization safe and of high caliber. The procedure used to finish the Med SLA: The banner had been set up in straightforward language with appropriate headings that would help the medical caretakers in seeing every one of the focuses in detail. They can tail it an as direction so as to forestall any drug blunder. It shows that destructive impacts that their carelessness may have on their vocation and on the patient life. It says about the means that they can embrace to decrease destructive practices and stay away from carelessness. It additionally portrays the administrations where they can go to look for help when they are befuddled or when they need to explain any questions. This banner is required to help the attendants in decreasing prescription mistake and building up their abilities in medicine organization. The potential results of the Med SLA: Various kinds of activities have been taken to make the human services staffs mindful of the unsafe outcomes that may prompt the hazardous circumstances for patients. The patients typical course of treatment would get influenced and his recuperation procedure might be postponed. This may likewise hamper the quality life that an assistance client anticipates. Plus, giving improper medicine not just outcomes in sedate medication connections and causes hypersensitivities yet in addition hurt the profession and notoriety of the attendant including her in lawful commitments. In this way, the banner would contain the various impacts it might have on the life of the patient and on the professions of patients. Furthermore, it would likewise assist them with taking safety measures, which would keep them from committing such errors and help them in basically breaking down the meds and their fixings as indicated by the clinical history of the patients. This banner will likewise assist the atten dant with enhancing their nursing rehearses if there should arise an occurrence of drug organization by talking with the significant sites, senior tutors and in any event, experiencing distinctive proof based articles (Rampton et al. 2014). Assessment of the undertaking result: The assessment of the result of the task is important to comprehend whether the undertaking had been fruitful in its point of making attendants mindful of the outcomes of wrong drug organization. So as to assess it, the authority may lead a clinical review to survey the current situation (Black and Dawood, 2014). Decrease in the quantity of instances of medication tranquilize collaboration and hypersensitivities will naturally actualize that the undertaking positively affected the act of the attendants (Fernando et al. 2014). Also, welcoming intelligent bits of work from the medical caretakers is accepted to be useful in understanding the effect so the task in the present nursing rehearses. Impressions of the medical attendants won't just cause them to understand their own positive and negative perspectives however will likewise assist the administering body with knowing about the discernments that the attendants are harboring in them (Wheatley et al. 2015). Usually, this comes in the form of a comment or question that somehow embarrasses, singles out, or worsens the anxiety of the person being addressed. What Not to Say to Someone With Social Anxiety Below are 10 of the worst things that you can say to someone with social anxiety. You may recognize using some of these in the past. While you may have meant it innocently, be aware that these comments and questions can make someone with social anxiety very uncomfortable. Why Are You so Quiet? Although the question might seem innocent enough to you, it is one of the most unhelpful things that can be said to a person with SAD. Not only are you singling out someone who doesnt want to be the center of attention, but you are bringing attention to that persons anxiety; there really is no good way to respond to this question. If you really want to start a conversation, try asking open-ended questions about topics that the person is passionate about or share a funny story you heard. He or she will be grateful you took the lead. You Just Need to Think Positive You would never tell people with a physical disability that theyd get over it if they thought positively; its just as silly to say it to someone with a mental illness. A person with SAD has problematic thought patterns outside his control, and these patterns are not easily changed without outside intervention. Although you may think that your advice is helpful, it trivializes the problem and places the blame on the person for not being able to out-think the disorder. You Just Need to Face Your Fears This comment goes hand-in-hand with thinking positive. Although a person with SAD does need to face his fears, it needs to be done in a gradual way with professional supervision. Otherwise, anxiety can become so intense that the fear is increased rather than lessened. I Know How You Feel; Im Shy, Too There is nothing worse than hearing that someone knows how you feel when they clearly dont. If you feel a little nervous before giving speeches, dont tell a person with SAD that you know how he feels. Also, dont tell him that you used to be shy but you got over it and he can too. It minimizes his feelings by comparing it to yours. Unless you have been diagnosed with SAD, you cant understand how a person with SAD feels. Why Dont You Have a Drink to Loosen Up? Although most mean well when they advise that a person with SAD have a drink to relieve anxiety, it is a dangerous suggestion. People with SAD are at an increased risk for substance abuse disorders and it is never a good idea to rely on a substance as a crutch. Drinking as a way of coping with social anxiety can lead to the development of alcoholism. Social Anxiety and Alcohol Abuse Let Me Order for You Although it can be tempting to talk for a person with SAD, doing so both undermines that persons confidence and takes away an opportunity for him to practice social skills. If you know someone with the disorder, be patient and supportive, but do not speak on his behalf. Wow, Your Face Just Turned Really Red Chances are, the person whose face just turned red knows that it happened. And, you pointing it out probably made it turn three shades brighter. People who blush easily, whether they have SAD or not, generally dont like being made the center of attention when it happens. Its not something they can control and it will only embarrass them more. How to Deal With Blushing When You Have SAD I Need You to Make a Presentation in Our Meeting Tomorrow If you have an employee with SAD, be sure to give that person plenty of notice about social or performance job-related expectations such as presentations, employee luncheons, or even casual discussions in meetings. A person with SAD does not react well to being put on the spot. If you truly value your employee, respect his need for advance notice and give it. Your Hands Were Shaking During Your Speech Again, chances are the person giving the speech knows that her hands shook the whole time. Finding out that other people noticed as well is only going to make things worse. Instead, find something positive to say about the speech and congratulate her on a job well done. Top Tips for Managing Public Speaking Anxiety SAD Isnt a Real Disorder; Youre Just Shy The attitude that people with the disorder are simply shy is part of the reason why most sufferers never seek help or receive treatment. SAD is more than shyness. It is a disorder that affects every aspect of daily life. It is irresponsible to debate the legitimacy of something if you know little about it and have not experienced it firsthand. When speaking with someone with SAD, remember that the person wants to feel like you are listening and interested in what he has to say. Above all else, dont be critical, overbearing or try to get too personal. Find common interests and take it slow; you may just end up making a new friend. mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-74945168275849560552020-06-29T05:09:00.001-07:002020-06-29T05:09:03.420-07:00Aztec Empire the dominant force in the pre-historic Columbia Mexico - 1925 WordsAztec Empire: the dominant force in the pre-historic Columbia Mexico (Annotated Bibliography Sample) Content: Aztec Annotated Bibliography Student Name Institutional Affiliation Aztec Annotated Bibliography Baquedano, E., Zabeà , M. Faith was born in the Philippines. However, she is profoundly influenced by her Chinese ancestry. Faith has three sisters. Faith has a teaching degree and has taught in the private school sector. She can speak English, Mandarin, French, and knows sign language. Her ancestors moved from China to the Philippines due to a World War. Male children are valued more in the Chinese culture than females because males carry on the family name. Therefore, when Faith s mother was pregnant with her fourth female child she was offered to trade her child with a cousin s male child. Faith s parents refused to give up their daughter. The refusal to trade for a male baby was a significant disgrace for the family. Consequently, her father moved his family to the United States of America where her mother instilled the importance of education in each of her daughters. She considers her father s decision to move the family to the United States of America as a significant event that shaped her life. She feels that she and her sisters are much more educated than cousins that eventually moved to the country later in their lives. She founded Ms. magazine, starting in 1972. Her good looks and quick, humorous responses made her the medias favorite spokesperson for feminism, but she was often attacked by the radical elements in the womens movement for being too middle-class-oriented. She was an outspoken advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment and helped found the National Womens Political Caucus. Selected Gloria Steinem Quotations This is no simple reform. It really is a revolution. Sex and race because they are easy and visible differences have been the primary ways of organizing human beings into superior and inferior groups and into the cheap labour in which this system still depends. We are talking about a society in which there will be no roles other than those chosen or those earned. We are really talking about humanism. I have met brave women who are exploring the outer edge of possibility, with no history to guide them and a courage to make themselves vulnerable that I find moving beyond the words to express it. à [from the 1972 preview issue of Ms. Magazine] [About Ms. Magazines founding]à I backed into it. Ià felt very strongly there should be a feminist magazine. But I didnt want to start it myself. I wanted to be aà freelance writer. Id never had a job, never worked in an office, never worked with a group before. It justà happened. I always wanted to be a writer. I got into activism just because it needed to be done. The first problem for all of us, men and women, is not to learn, but to unlearn. Weve begun to raise daughters more like sons... but few have the courage to raise our sons more like our daughters. We can tell our values by looking at our checkbook stubs. Women may be the one group that grows more radical with age. But the problem is that when I go around and speak on campuses, I still dont get young men standing up and saying, How can I combine career and family? Now we have the dreams and tools to move beyond words and history, beyond the possible to the imagined, and into a life both ancient and new, where we will look back to see our present dreams trailing behind us as markers of where we have been. [1994] Each of us has an inner compass that helps us know where to go and what to do. Its signals are interest, the joy of understanding for its own sake, and the sort of fear that is a sign of being in new territory -- and therefore of growth. A liberated woman is one who has sex before marriage and a job after. Someone asked me why women dont gamble as much as men do, and I gave the commonsensical reply that we dont have as much money. That was a true and incomplete answer. In fact, womens total instinct for gambling is satisfied by marriage. We know that we can do what men can do, but we still dont know that men can do what women can do. Thats absolutely crucial. We cant go on doing two jobs. Some of us are becoming the men we wanted to marry. Most women are one man away from welfare. [or]à Most of us are only one man away from welfare. [the second is more likely the original] [About Geraldine Ferraros candidacy:] What has the womens movement learned from her candidacy for vice president? Never get married. [After her marriage at age 66 to David Bale]à If I had got married when I was supposed to have in my 20s, I would have lost almost all my civilà rights. I wouldnt have had my own name, my own legal residence, my own credit rating. I would have had to getà a husband to sign off on a bank loan, or starting a business. Its changed profoundly. If women are supposed to be less rational and more emotional at the beginning of our menstrual cycle when the female hormone is at its lowest level, then why isnt it logical to say that, in those few days, women behave the most like the way men behave all month long? The truth is that, if men could menstruate, the power justifications would go on and on. Law and justice are not always the same. When they arent, destroying the law may be the first step toward changing it. Most womens magazines simply try to mold women into bigger and better consumers. I have met brave women who are exploring the outer edge of human possibility, with no history to guide them, and with a courage to make themselves vulnerable that I find moving beyond words. If the shoe doesnt fit, must we change the foot? The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off. Power can be taken, but not given. The process of the taking is empowerment in itself. A pedestal is as much a prison as any small, confined space. The family is the basic cell of government: it is where we are trained to believe that we are human beings or that we are chattel, it is where we are trained to see the sex and race divisions and become callous to injustice even if it is done to ourselves, to accept as biological a full system of authoritarian government. Happy or unhappy, families are all mysterious. We have only to imagine how differently we would be described -- and will be, after our deaths -- by each of the family members who believe they know us. I dont breed well in captivity. Childbirth is more admirable than conquest, more amazing than self-defense, and as courageous as either one. Most American children suffer too much mother and too little father. The authority of any governing institution must stop at its citizens skin. Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning. One thing is clear: The human mind can imagine both how to break self-esteem and how to nurture it -- and imagining anything is the first step toward creating it. A woman reading Playboy feels a little like a Jew reading a Nazi manual. For women... bras, panties, bathing suits, and other stereotypical gear are visual reminders of a commercial, idealized feminine image that our real and diverse female bodies cant possibly fit. Without these visual references, each individual womans body demands to be accepted on its own terms. We stop being comparatives. We begin to be unique. If you let Barnum Bailey interpret a plot by Stendhal, it might turn out to be something like the 1972 Democratic convention. [About Dr. Ruth Westheimer:]à She has become theà Julia Childà of sex. [About Marilyn Monroe:]à [I]ts hard for men to admit that a sex goddess didntà enjoy sex.... Its part of the desire to believe she was murdered -- the same cultural impulse that says if shes aà sex goddess she had to have enjoyed sex doesnt want to believe she killed herself, doesnt want to accept herà unhappiness. If you add her years of movie stardom to the years since her death, Marilyn Monroe has been a part of our lives and imaginations for nearly four decades. Thatââ¬â¢s a very long time for one celebrity to survive in a throwaway culture. When the past dies there is mourning, but when the future dies, our imaginations are compelled to carry it on. Planning ahead is a measure of class. The rich and even the middle class plan for future generations, but the poor can plan ahead only a few weeks or days. Writing is the only thing that, when I do it, I dont feel I should be doing something else. I think we deserve to be proud that so many Smith girls of the 1950s survived educations that trained us to fit the world, or at least to fear the conflict that comes from trying the make the world fit us. From pacifist to terrorist, each person condemns violence -- and then adds one cherished case in which it may be justified. No man can call himself liberal, or radical, or even a conservative advocate of fair play, if his work depends in any way on the unpaid or underpaid labor of women at home, or in the office. Living in India made me understand that a white minority of the world has spent centuries conning us into thinking a white skin makes people superior, even though the only thing it really does is make them more subject to ultraviolet rays and wrinkles. The only thing I cant stand is discomfort. For much of the female half of the world, food is the first signal of our inferiority. It lets us know that our own families may consider female bodies to be less deserving, less needy, less valuable. Evil is obvious only in retrospect. The first wave was about women gaining a legalà identity, and it took 150 years. The second wave of feminism is about social equality. Weveà come a long way, but its only been 25 years.... Women used to say, I am not a feminist, but.... Now they say, Ià am a feminist, but.... mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-26112498548923742932020-05-10T19:49:00.001-07:002020-05-10T19:49:02.628-07:00Olvidar Conjugation in Spanish, Translations, Examples Olvidar is the Spanish verb for to forget, although it can also refer to leaving something behind, even if done intentionally. During a career of more than 50 years, his research and writing guided the development of many educational programs making it possible for teachers to have all students learn well. Bloom s contributions to education began during his years in the Office of the Board of Examiners at the University of Chicago, where he worked from 1940 to 1959. Much of his work at this time focused on the relationships among methods of instruction, educational results, and measurement of those results. This work led to his first book in 1950 and eventually to the work for which he is best known, the Taxonomy of Educational Goals, Handbook I: The Thi nking-related Domain. Answer: After the GDP increased with population growth, Ethiopian government followed the model of state led development. It invested in power, telecommunications and transportation that instigated economic growth. It has taken initiatives to protect its local companies such as media and retail sector and promote manufacturing of pharmaceuticals sector. The government has also reserved financial sectors for domestic investment and state banks have hold most of the bank assets. Ethiopian government has attempted to attract the local manufacturers and encourage export system that substitute import. Tax and customs exemptions have permitted the investors transmute their capital as well as profit into dollar. Pros and cons: despite the fact that Ethiopian government has made policies to attract the private companies and foreign investors, they are facing competitions in the fields of achieving government tenders, custom clearing and navigating government bureaucracy. The problem in transportation and telecommunications still continue. Frequent power cuts have infringed the production (Quelch, Sunru, 2015). In spite the country provides a high supply of workforce, but skilled and trained labors are scarce as well as costly. Limited competition in market has proved to be beneficial for the multinational companies but they do not have brand awareness among the consumers. The governments policy to restrict the imported goods to domestic factories has prevented the way to invest in Ethiopia. Building trust with customers is difficult and public sector corruption has been reported high which may affect investment. CareCo: The company has global recognition in manufacturing personal care products. Initially the company had entered the Ethiopian market through local agent. This method served the company with low-risk and low-cost in production which previously helped the company to increased its profitability. Now the company proposes for capturing the increasing purchase power of Ethiopian consumers utilizing its popularity. ShoeCo. The company used import-only strategies to increase its profitability through local manufacturing as well as local importers. Now the company wants to build an economic zone so that it can utilize the low cost local labor force to get exemption from taxes. MedCo. As the Ethiopian government has taken drive to promote pharmaceutical manufacturing, the company has proposed to establish independent pharmacies (Quelch, Sunru, 2015). Previously, MedCo had no propriety products and provided only the private labeled goods with local packaging. Now with the economic growth, the expenditure on health per capita will also rise, which has made the company to introduce wholly owned subsidiary. CareCo: The company has established its subsidiaries that have enabled it to build local manufacturing facilities and invest its own people to grow the local business. This will help it to reduce the retail prices compared to its local competitors, expand its reach to more people rather than only urban customers. Local manufacturing will take time to start operating fully in the country which may prove to be costly in competitive market. ShoeCo: it had established long term contracts with individual distributors but now it proposes for engaging 2000 local workers as employees. This will enable them to be exempted from corporate taxes for five long years and the company will import all capital equipments duty free. It wants to utilize the low cost labors available in Ethiopia but they will have to invest on training them, properly. MedCo: the company visions to utilize the governments policy of promoting healthcare sector by assisting the pharmaceutical manufacturing. The3refore, the company tries to enter the Ethiopian market by establishing fully owned subsidiary like CareCo. Despite the companys growth has slowed down due to international disturbances and business maturing process, it finds Ethiopia as a promising market which will grow within a decade. The new policies for building new healthcare system, clinics and pharmacies will help the company to introduce its products, know the demands and build needed partnerships (Quelch, Sunru, 2015). Like ShoeCo, this company therefore will be able to import equipments duty free and will be tax free for five years. The competitors of MedCo are china and India based manufacturers therefore, the company may face a tough competition in Ethiopian market. CareCo forecasts growth of 15% in the next year as the income of people are growing and they are willing to spend on personal care products. Therefore, the company can pay back within 5 years approximately. ShoeCos low cost input method will enable it to payback approximately within in 4 years. MedCo will definitely pay back within 10 years because their income is growing 15% to 20% per annum. All the companies have promising future in Ethiopian market. The governments market enter policies must be well utilized and cross-cultural aspects must be recognized by the companies. Reference: Quelch, John A., Sunru Yong. (2015). Many Americans want to know the answer to this question, but is it possible to really answer the question to ââ¬Å"whyâ⬠we have social class? It is easy to explain ââ¬Å"whatâ⬠, but itââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"whyâ⬠that stumps us every time. Social class is the division or classification among people in a society. In America we have the upper class (rich), the upper and lower middle classes, and the lower class (poor). Americans base the social classes mainly upon annual income, and education. I have discovered an excellent example that highlights the struggle of our societyââ¬â¢s lower class and also the dominance of our upper class. My chosen example is the movie John Q. John Q is about a lower class family who struggles with insurance companies and the health system. John Quincy Archibald and Denise Archibald are the father and mother of Michael ââ¬Å"Mikeâ⬠Archibald. One morning during Mikeââ¬â¢s baseball game he was sprinting to second base and suddenly falls to the ground into a seizure. John and Denise frantically call an ambulance and rush to the hospital. After thorough testing John and Denise Archibald receive the frightening news that Mike has a bad heart. The only choice Mike has is to have a heart transplant or he will die. John Archibald does everything in his power to earn enough money just to get Mikeââ¬â¢s name on the list but after the first few weeks pass the hospital tells him it is too late. They are sending Mike home to die. Denise calls John and tells him to ââ¬Å"do somethingâ⬠. That is exactly what John did except he was forced to go to extremes. Making sure John had all the right professionals, and the right equipment on one side of the hospital he locked it down and held that one side hostage. By doing this he was hoping they would give in and put Mikeââ¬â¢s name on the transplant list, but it was a bigger journey than he thought. At first the hospital tried to trick him by ââ¬Å"tellingâ⬠him they put Mikeââ¬â¢s name on just so he would surrender. John was smarter than they thought. John had a gun and one bullet in which he intended to kill himself with so his son could have his heart. Just in the knick of time to save both John and Mikeââ¬â¢s life, a perfect heart with the same blood type was available for transplant, so the heart was given to Mike. John then surrendered and was sent to jail for 3 years. This movie was a perfect example showing the struggle the lower class faces in the health system. All because John didnââ¬â¢t have the hospitals preferred health insurance the hospital was willing to send Mike home and let him die. Why would an establishment that makes so much money be willing to let an innocent child lie on his deathbed? Because that is the way our world works. If we did not have restrictions on healthcare and on who can and cannot receive certain health care, we would not be able to save the people who actually worked hard enough in life to qualify. Do I think it is right to let someone die because of money? No, but that is only my opinion. If someone is going to die, but they can be saved, everything that can possibly be done to save them should be done and the bill will be paid afterwards. Not only did John struggle with health care and the insurance company, but also he struggled with respect. The professionals of the hospital talked down to him and gave him no hope or encouragement. They did not talk to the wealthy patients this way. This shows that money plays such a big role in our status. Being upper class opens a lot more doors for an individual, and they can keep climbing the social class ladder. Nowadays it is even harder to bring yourself to the top. Sometimes it takes more than a bachelors degree to be higher than middle class. Over the years college tuition gets higher and loans get harder to find. Money is pushing many Americanââ¬â¢s down the social class ladder so far that they can never find their way to the top. Along with the struggle with health care and respect, both the lower and middle class struggle with inflation. Prices on anything and everything are skyrocketing. Employeeââ¬â¢s hours are slowly getting cut at work. Minimum wage is staying at a constant. All of these things are affecting our lives in a negative way. Many families have had to foreclose their homes and file bankruptcy. Kids have a hard time finding financial aid for school, and it is preventing them from trying to get an education. You would think everyone in the world would open there eyes and see what is happening and try to fix it, but we, the human race, are encouraging our fate; the end of ime. December 22, 2012 is the universal prediction of the end of time. It is up to us to change that, but we are too ignorant to work together and try to mend the damage we have done. Why did I mention the end of time? Because, in a deeper sense, it ties in with social class. The division among people has given us a reason to judge others. Some upper class citizens feel high and mighty compared to the lower class. This is also where s tereotyping comes from. We have nicknames like trailer trash, white trash, and nigger. These names come from the classification the human race made for themselves. John Quincy Archibald faced all of these problems, and that is why his situation serves has an excellent example. All in all, social class will open doors for some, and close doors for many. Till the end of time we will always see people struggling to live a comfortable life, and the people that struggle will have children more likely to struggle. Life is a never-ending series of events and choices leading up to success or failure, and that success or failure is only determined by one thing. The human race. mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-30897382071035402302020-04-14T03:37:00.001-07:002020-04-14T03:37:04.182-07:00How to Find Epitaph Essay Sample BooksHow to Find Epitaph Essay Sample BooksIf you are working on your own book, an autobiography essay is always a great resource to have. Man has only started to realize how much of the worlds weather is effected by it. The term El Nino refers to an irregular warming of the seas surface. During the last 40 years there have been 10 significant El Nino occurrences. Most affecting the coast of South America. Water temperatures increase along the coast as far as the Galapagos islands. Weak events will raise the water temperature 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and will have minor impact on fishing. However strong events such as the 1982-83 event will disrupt climate conditions around the world as well as local conditions. It has been linked to floods and droughts all over the world. Hurricanes and tropical storms are also altered in their numbers by El Nino. Therefore it would be very helpful for people if El Nino could be predicted and prepared for in some form. During a El Nino cycle there are many biological changes. Due to a depressed thermocline there is less photosynthetic activity resulting in a decrease in the primary life forms that form the beginning of the food chain. The warmer waters that are brought by these changing cycles hold less dissolved oxygen forcing fish to go deeper or venture elsewhere. Due to a lack of data during El Nino occurrences it is not fully known if fish populations are depleted solely due to exposure to El Nino. A decrease in their growth and reproductive success has been observed by many surveys in coastal waters. The link between climatic effects around the world and El Nino is now well established. It has taken many years of studying to understand how the pieces of the puzzle, from ocean currents to winds and heavy rains fit together. During the 1920s a scientist was on assignment in India trying to predict the Asian monsoons. As he sorted through his records he discovered a connection between barometer readings at stations on the eastern and western sides of the Pacific. He noticed ... mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-44212458839352352172020-03-04T15:10:00.001-08:002020-03-04T15:10:03.745-08:0018 Terrific Christmas Gifts Ideas For College Students18 Terrific Christmas Gifts Ideas For College Students Oh, the weather outside is frightfulâ⬠¦ Isnt it? The historical background puts the writing into context, helping to inform the reader on which aspects were relevant to the contemporary and which are relevant to future events. Although not every part of any of the passages of the ancient writings can ever fully be identified as one or the other, there are some frameworks of meaning that are well known and can be related in order to help the reader interpret what is read. According to Oswalt, the way to understand the writing is through the time and place in which it was written, that ââ¬Å"Godââ¬â¢s revelation is always incarnationalâ⬠or humanized through the context of location in which they are written. Therefore, it is essential to discuss the nature of historical context of the book in order to begin to understand the nature of the meanings that are revealed. To begin with, it is highly likely that the book is the work of multiple authors, each contributing through their own perspective. One of the first indications of this way in which the book came into existence is because there are three distinct time periods in which the book relates events. The first time period occurs during Isaiahââ¬â¢s lifetime and likely represents 739-701 BCE.... One of the first indications of this way in which the book came into existence is because there are three distinct time periods in which the book relates events. The first time period occurs during Isaiahââ¬â¢s lifetime and likely represents 739-701 BCE. The second and third time periods are reflections of the time periods after the death of Isaiah and are about the time of the exile (605-439 BCE), which is discussed in chapters 40-55, and the return (539-500 BCE) which is defined through chapters 56-66 (Oswalt 4). The first section of time, the time of Isaiahââ¬â¢s life, is also representative of Assyriaââ¬â¢s last period of great influence as part of human expansion. This period of Assyrian influence ended in 609 BCE as the Medo-Babylonian culture completely destroyed the Assyrian seat of power. Part of the destruction of Assyria came about through a series of very weak ruling Kings who could not hold what their ancestors had gained through conquest. Therefore, the areas t hat were at the outer edges of the expansion of the Assyrians had a period of tranquility, lasting from approximately 810 to 750 BCE. Two of the regions that benefited from this tranquility were Judah and Israel. During this time, the second king named Jeroboam was in rule over Israel and the kingdom of Judah was being ruled by Azariah, or sometimes known as Uzziah. Because of this time of peace, the Judeans and the Israelites believed that God was pleased with his children, the efforts of both prophets that had been sent to warn them of coming doom unheeded, the messages of Amos and Hosea. Through the apostate course that the nations were traveling, the end of this peace was inevitable (Oswalt 4-5). This mutual responsiveness is what creates the secure base for early developmentâ⬠(The Project, 2006). Inefficiency to tackle problems in its initial stages leads to society paying a high price for it. Collectively the cost is reflected in social disruption, poor educational attainment, physical and mental ill health, anti-social behaviour, and the financial cost related to each of theseâ⬠(Vision, 2005). In 2004 the Department of Health placed greater emphasis on prevention of illness, The NSF for Mental Health (1999) recommended promotion of mental health and wellbeing NSF (2003) Attachment theory is a child - development theory that helps in the understanding of child-parent relationship from an early age. According to this theory relationship between children and their parents, lays the foundation for the childââ¬â¢s future relationship that can be either social or emotional. It also has a bearing on the way the child functions at school. The lasting emotional ties created between infants and their parents are called attachment. Children of abusive parents too, develop attachment towards their parents. Attachment usually grows through repeated interactions that take place in the first year of the life of an infant with their parents. An infant can develop multiple attachments with the father, mother or grandparents, but they have generally one parent who is their ââ¬Å"primary attachment figureâ⬠. The two basic attachment patterns are ââ¬âsecure and insecure. Researchers have found that responsive and sensitive parenting, results in secure attachments where the child uses his or her parent as a source of comfort. Dependence on the parent leads to independence, which is the key principle of attachment theory. Parents of secure children are sensitive and responsive. You must justify it as an area of research in your academic field; explain why it is topic of importance, why it is of interest and how it will help for the industry your subject area is located in. Research question: Did the venues built for the Olympic Games in Beijing have a positive effect for china? This research topic exemplifies an excellent business model for growth and change and an opportunity to exact best practice for a city in need of renovation, inspired by the International presence of the Olympic Games. It seeks to demonstrate the cause and effect of long-term change and sustainable development that can occur and the value placed upon often risk-taking investment by way of national necessity. From a business perspective the research will focus on determining what the economic, social, political and technological implications have been for China in the light of their internationally profiled focus on making the city of Beijing a more environmentally stable location, having been rated one of the most predominantly polluted and energy and resource hungry cities in the world. The Olympic Village itself contained a number of innovative technologies including a heat pump system, solar collectors, water saving devices, and rainwater collection. Introducing the use of sewage water is likely to save tons of coal each year The Olympic Village also contains a vacuum glass tube solar collection system installed on the buildings roofs which heats tap water. There are water collection tubes installed as part of the roof gardens on the buildings. The 2008 Headquarters Office has estimated that this solar heating system will save nearly 2,400 tons of coal per year. This building will now function as a kindergarten following the Games and the Olympic Village will serve as a residential area. The architecture was designed to save as much energy as possible, through, for instance, orienting the building to take in sunlight in winter, and an exterior sun shading system to cool the inner spaces in summer time.[1] Overall the environmental design and construction of these buildings and surrounding carbon neutral woods, parks and greenbelt areas paved the way for the implementation of new systems that impacted on air quality, energy use, transportation, water, forests and toxics and waste across the city which has influenced the way in which China as one of the most rapidly developing nations in the World is now appreciating its responsibilities to exact environmental standards universally. Beijing now provides an example of Chinaââ¬â¢s commitment to expand in an environmentally cautious way. Section Two: Setting your research aim(s) and objectives (15%) State your research questions, develop a research aim and set your objectives. The hypotheses for this research will aim to answer the question as to whether the building and environmental measures adopted that took place in Beijing for the benefit of the Olympic Games has impacted at all significantly on the wider future appreciation by China to adapt its buildings, resource usage and the subsequent way in which it will continue to conduct its business. This will need to be achieved by presenting the changes that occurred in Beijing, prior, during and following the Olympic Games, to assess the environmental objectives that were woven into the design and implementation of all its new venues and landscapes. A comprehensive summary of the types of buildings and venues that were constructed for the benefit of the Olympic Games in Beijing will need to be provided. Once this has been established, the ways in which these environmental additions proved successful can be measured alongside their sustainability and productivity from a business and environmental perspective. An historical evaluation of the city before it became the chosen host of the games will need to take place in terms of investigating its original economic, political, environmental and technological situation and how this was viewed globally by other nations, as well as in relation to China itself. This will then build an understanding of the way in which the city function ed in comparison to how it now functions in 2008; whether any significant changes have occurred in its growth and fiscal situation. Consequently evidence to support how China has responded to the success of these buildings in relation to the way in which they have increased Beijingââ¬â¢s political, economic and social standing will need to be ascertained with regard to whether this has raised the profile of China generally around the world. Evidence of influence and genuine impact will need to be provided. Section Three: Literature Review (25% 1000 words) Identify the areas of secondary literature you need to be looking (The subject areas which will assist you (Think theoretical areas) Then you will need to give a prà ©cis of the main issues, indicating their relevance to your subject. Literature reviews should also raise issues and develop an argument in the literature if possible. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the fundamental rationale for determining the best way in which to build a framework to take forward a research paper tackling the subject of the effects of Leisure Tourism on a whole nation. Examples of literature will be illustrated through a variety of texts, journals and internet references in order to demonstrate the numerous academic theories and examples that can help shape a contextualised argument exploring a number of hypotheses. The investigative approach for determining the question Did the venues built for the Olympic Games in Beijing have a positive effect for china? can be measured and rationalised by way of several hypothesis; What is the political, economic, technological and social background of Beijing prior to it being awarded host city to the 2008 Olympic Games? How does China function currently as one of the Worldââ¬â¢s most developing countries economically, what type and level of resources does it use in order to sustain its growth? What was the nature, design remit and approach to building in Beijing in relation to preparing for the Olympic Games and how was it influenced to apply an environmental approach ââ¬â what physically was constructed and for what purposes? Has the cityââ¬â¢s reconstruction made an impact on its environmental situation at all? How has this been communicated to the rest of the world and consequently raised the profile of China? A number of sources relating to these questions can be utilised from journals, texts, reports and online material that will form the fundamental framework to this study and the dissertation will flow in accordance with these lines of reasoning. In order to demonstrate the history of Beijing and its context within China there are a number of sources of material Growth Without Miracles: Readings on the Chinese Economy in the Era of Reform illustrates Chinas economic reform during the second half of the twentieth century. How not just the living conditions of the Chinese population but through its economic transition from central planning to a market economy. The book is complied of thirty widely-cited articles by well known economists in the field of China studies.[2] The Cambridge Handbook of Contemporary China by Colin Mackerras and Amanda Yorke emphasizes Chinaââ¬â¢s openness to Western technology as well as its rejection of Western democratic ideals. This volume offers up-to-date information on all aspects of Chinese life since 1949, with particular emphasis on the 1980s. Maps and tabled statistics accompany the text relating to all areas of Chinese life. China in the Global Economy Environment, Water Resources and Agr icultural Policies: Lessons from China and OECD Countries, by Nong ye bu informs the reader about Chinas water resources which are extremely low, poorly distributed, and increasingly polluted and how Chinas future development depends on initiatives that will raise the efficiency of how water is used. More specific to Beijing many studies have been conducted over the years into the environmental affects of this busy expanding city. One example can be found in Air pollution and daily mortality in residential areas of Beijing, China. Is a research paper which documents the relationship between air pollution and daily mortality in 1989 two residential areas in Beijing, China. ââ¬ËA highly significant association was found between [sulfur dioxide] and daily mortality. The association of [total suspended particulates] with total daily mortality was positive but not significant. In the cause-specific analysis, the strongest effects on mortality were consistently seen for respiratory diseases in both [summer and winter].ââ¬â¢ [3] The most modern analysis of the processes undertaken by Beijing in the run-up to the ensuing Olympic objectives for the city are highlighted in The Concrete Dragon: Chinas Urban Thomas J. Campanella discusses Chinaââ¬â¢s great building boom that there were fewer than 200 cities in China in the late 1970s compared to the 700 odd today. The scale of Chinaââ¬â¢s urban revolution is detailed, alongside its roaring economy and rapid urbanization elsewhere compared to the rest of the world. In relation to articles and journal citations this area of understanding is well documented. Most useful examples can be gained from examining Spectacular Beijing: The Conspicuous Construction of an Olympic Metropolis which presents a critical review of Beijings Olympic redevelopment, and of the social, economic, and political impacts of hosting ââ¬Ëmega eventsââ¬â¢ as a means of urban image construction. How Beijings restructure played an important role in Chinas transition to capitalism as the Olympics have helped concentrate economic and political power in the hands of a coalition of government leaders and private investors. [4] (Broudehoux, 2007) With similar information to be accessed from New Beijing, Great Olympics: Beijing and its Unfolding Olympic Legacy by Ryan Ong and Olympiad Dreams of Urban Renaissance by Rob Imrie. In terms of the most recent analysis carried out in relation to the impact of the games physically and financially, this is a well documented area of dialogue in the media and with scholars. Estimating the Cost and Benefit of Hosting Olympic Games: What Can Beijing Expect from Its 2008 Games? Represents a forecast of what will ensue as a result of the impact on Beijing whilst anticipating ââ¬ËThe potential for long term economic benefits from the Beijing Games will depend critically on how well Olympics related investments in venues and infrastructure can be incorporated into the overall economy in the years following the Games.ââ¬â¢[5](Owen, 2005) For a more generic approach to this argument James Highamââ¬â¢s Sport as an Avenue of Tourism Development: An Analysis of the Positive and Negative Impacts of Sport Tourism looks at the positive economic repercussions for cities who host the Olympic Games. As this is still quite a modern debate it is difficult to source a great deal of scholarly information that determines the subsequent impact to be had on China as a whole. Evidence for this is still emerging and it is suggested that news archives, economic reports and environmental reviews be explored in greater detail in order to address the outcomes of the question under discussion. Many have prophesized or forecast this debate but for factual information a most up to date study of observations being reported from China will be required to substantiate the debate. Another helpful source can be utilized from documents associated with the Beijing Municipal Government and United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP). The most relevant of these being the UNEP report Beijing 2008 Olympic Games ââ¬â An Environmental Review and the official Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games paper Beijing 2008: Environmental Protection, Innovation and Improvement, 2001-2006, Update Report. Section Four: Research Methodology and Design (10% 500 words) Here you will need to focus on the types of methods you intend to use and why. Why for instance will you use one research method over another or why do you need to use more than one method? As a rule of thumb, think about The problem being addressed in this dissertation is to attempt to demonstrate evidence that is both economic and environmental, not only to Beijing but in the broader context of China and how this has essentially been strengthened by the influences of leisure and tourism. It is necessary to conduct considerable research across a number of areas in order to reach the conclusions that will effectively answer the question. Many dissertations of this nature require a definitive method of research in order to build a framework to take forward the means to answering the hypothesis. For the purposes of this essay the way in which the methodology for developing this framework came about is primarily informed by the Literature Review. This type of secondary analysis helps clarify both the type of information available as well as the limitations of that material. Burnsââ¬â¢s An Introduction to Tourism and Anthropology demonstrates the fast-growing field of tourism studies. How anthropology is the window through which tourism dynamics should be analyzed and evaluated. [6] In terms of assessing the impact of tourism and how in the case of Beijing it acted as a catalyst for change as well as changing the worldââ¬â¢s opinion of the region; this volume suggests an anthropological approach to research, in other words statistical data to explain the phenomena under discussion. Appreciating that this may be the best way of assessing an outcome with which to measure impact, Tourism and leisure research methods: data collection, analysis and interpretation provides the tools to recognise and produce good research through qualitative and quantitative research techniques focusing on reliability, validity and representativeness of data using SPSS for Windows and an SPSS data file to undertake statistical analysis, data management and data documentat ion. In terms of the business studies approach to solving this question, carrying out quantitative research which in the context of Social Sciences includes a wide range of examples and activities offers a solid foundation in research design, measurement, and statistics.ââ¬â¢ [7] Applying quantitative research to this study should help develop and create a model for the hypotheses and measure the connection between the data received from the Government and UN reports cited in the Literature Review alongside the empirical results fielded from any contrasting qualitative research that emerges from subsequent interviews, surveys or observations collated from relevant citizens of Beijing, China, officials connected with the construction programmes and the Construction and Environment department of the Beijing Organising Committee as well as analysing relevant documents and material. With the emphasis on quantitative research methods this will largely involve planning, sampling, designing measurement instruments, choosing statistical tests, and interpreting the results [8] In order to effectively analyse leisure and tourism within the business, management and environmental disciplines a number of factors will need to be taken into consideration including anthropology, the economics of China, the history of its growth exemplified by Beijing, human geography, the philosophy and sociology of the environment. Fieldwork will need to be planned and conducted according to ethnographic methods including participant observation, interviewing, focus groups, and video/photographic work to capture and appreciate the changes occurring in China and the move towards an environmentally more astute philosophy. [9] Section Five: Your reflection on the overall process (15% 200 words) Sum up your reflections on the whole research methods process, how you coped with it and how you will approach final year study. This can be in the first person (i.e. ââ¬ËI think this I think that.ââ¬â¢). This is a fairly challenging area of study which requires the collation of a number of different areas of research to be processed and analysed. In order to quantify and qualify data such as this from a fundamentally empirical approach it is imperative to categorize the subjects or ââ¬Ëinstrumentsââ¬â¢ in much greater detail. For example should the data be gathered from specific areas in order to provide a holistic approach to determining the question, if so should these reflect economic, social, political and technological affects and form the categories that make up the focus of the discussion points? The need to establish a well thought out framework is crucial. It seems very clear from all of the complexities involved with assessing the impact of construction and technology for the purposes of staging the Olympic Games and how it can best be implemented requires further attention in terms of what is achievable and justifiable in this study. Primary research needs to be completed in order to establish the exact nature and challenges of existing opinions, observations and comparisons relating to the city of Beijing; compared to official government documentation, measured in relation to the overall accepted international objectives of China as a nation in its own right. The different actors, cultures, structures and goals will vary, sometimes considerably between communities under scrutiny. A common vision relating to the objectives of Beijing and its country needs to be legitimised in order to argue whether this has directly influenced China in a beneficial way. Depending on how this research is developed and taken forward in the future will influence the way in which data is recorded and the evidence presented. References Black, T.R. (1999). A lot of poems are composed of long difficult words that are hard to pronounce and hard to understand. However, in ââ¬Å"Poetry', Moore took a different route to explaining to the reader what poetry is. That is, she approached the poem with words that are used everyday, a technique to help the reader to understand the true meaning of poetry.I also feel like these lines, that we do not admire what e cannot understandâ⬠(lines 9-11), point out that the average person does not understand deep, complex literary meanings of words that are not used in everyday life. I also feel like Moore is expressing that this is one of the reasons why people do not read as much poetry, since they are indirectly discriminated due to the language filter. To add on, this may be the reason why the author started off with the lines, ââ¬Å"l, too, dislike it, there are things that are important beyond all this fiddleâ⬠(l ine 1).Once again, she relates to the audience in preference of literature. Perhaps through the poem, she is attempting to show herself grow out of the phase of dislike and into the phase of loving poetry to the extent of becoming a poet. The ignorance to poetry makes us believe that we do not enjoy poetry, but I feel like the author expresses that it is a matter of opening the book and surpassing the fear of feeling unintelligible due to the language in sophisticated poems. mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-62398499384230787192020-01-09T18:45:00.001-08:002020-01-09T18:45:03.075-08:00William Shakespeare s The Dream Of The Rood, Beowulf, And... All literature evolves throughout time due to the changes in culture and lifestyle of the society during a particular era. Authors are influenced by the beliefs of the nation, events, struggles, and politics of the time period. These influences can be clearly or subtly shown in the works of those authors of the age. The British culture is one of the many types that reflects such rich history and customs packed into its literature. The foundation of much British literature that integrated the convention of British civilization came during the Medieval Period. The Medieval stories of ââ¬Å"The Dream of the Rood,â⬠Beowulf, and The Canterbury Tales contained some of the British culture concerning gender, religion, and the view of heroes. One aspect of British culture of the Medieval times was the stereotypes of gender and certain expectations in gender roles. For example, the poet of ââ¬Å"The Dream of the Roodâ⬠used masculine and feminine language to show position of power (masculine) and powerlessness (feminine). Christ and the Cross shift back and forth between having power and not; both being weakened and defeated by an opposing force, but then rising up to gain honor and victory. The Cross was demoted to the status of a woman and shamed for being ââ¬Å"[h]elpless and unable to act on his own volition [and] must perform according to the dictates of his captorsâ⬠(Hawkins) when the enemy put Christ on the Cross. It reflects the belief that women or even feminine men are weak, cowardly, and mauldatlengme1973http://www.blogger.com/profile/08310469296912389956noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4126952246941118229.post-16133010778256316992020-01-01T15:10:00.001-08:002020-01-01T15:10:04.519-08:00BIOLOGY GRADE 11 NOTES Essay examples - 6702 Words Biology Grade 11 Exam Study Guide Diversity Taxonomic Categories Domain Kingdom Phylum Class Order Family Genus Species Hierarchy From most general to most specific Binomial Nomenclature System used to identify all organisms on Earth Identifies an organism by its genus and species (ex. On Twitter, Kevin Allred, a professor at Rutgers University, wrote, ââ¬Å"If youââ¬â¢re white claiming being called racist for supporting Trump is a ââ¬Ëbias incident,ââ¬â¢ you ve lived the most privileged life ever! Ever!â⬠The supporter shaming on social media, however, did not stop at the individual level; it grew to a systematic banning of vocal and enthusiastic Trump supporters on Twitter. Charlie Nash wrote in a Breitbart article, ââ¬Å"â⬠¦It appears that Twitterââ¬â¢s war on free speech is directed at a specific generation of libertarians and alternative conservative voices, many of whom areâ⬠¦supporters of Donald Trumpâ⬠¦theyââ¬â¢re going after the social networkââ¬â¢s most influential Trump supportersâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ While vocal Trump supporters were being banned on Twitter, there did not seem to be an issue with death threats being posed toward Donald Trump and his supporters, seeing as composers of such tweets were not banned. This type of behavior, engaged in by social media platforms, made political discourse hostile, but the opposite should be the goal of such media platforms. Family law governs areas such as marriage, family relationships, legal rights and obligations of parents and children, adoption and the protection and care of children within a family. However, over the recent years the changes in each area of family law has shown some changes have been effective and others demonstrate the need for law reform. We will write a custom essay sample on Family Law Contemporary Issues or any similar topic only for you Order Now This is due to the rapid change of the law and changing social standards, therefore the law is attempting to balance the rights and interest of the society and individual family members. The legal recognition of same sex relationships in Australia has dramatically evolved over the years. Same sex relationships have tackled huge issues in regards to marriage, discrimination and property rights. As same sex relationships have been excluded from a number of rights and obligations for example; the legal recognition of same sex marriage. The Marriage Act 1965 (Cth) defines marriage as ââ¬Ëthe legal union of a man and women with the exclusion of othersââ¬â¢. Therefore same sex marriage is void in Australia even those who have married in another country it will be seen as an invalid marriage. Having the lack of legal recognition can have direct consequences to same sex relationships and their families as they are excluded from the protections and rights that normal heterosexual couples and families have. This is demonstrated in the Young V Australia (1999) case, where a Sydney man was refused for a veteranââ¬â¢s dependent pension as he was in a same sex relationship. In this incident the United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) determined the Australian government had breached the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), as ââ¬Ëall persons are equal before the law. ââ¬â¢ Not only has it breached the ICCPR but it has breach the Sex Discrimination Act 1984. Therefore, this demonstrates how the legal system is ineffective as there is a lack of enforceability with regards to the role that the international law plays in Australia. In order to create equality in the legal system for same-sex relationships the Australian Human Rights Commission report in 2008 had introduced reforms with the aim to provide same sex couples with the same entitlements as heterosexuals. The most significant reform was the introduction of the Property (Relationships) Legislation Amendment Act 1999 (NSW). This has allowed de facto elationships to have the right to divide property as seen in the Hope and Brown v NIB Health Fund Ltd (1995). In this case the Equal Opportunity Tribunal had played an effective role as it has shown to be successfully in achieving justice and equality for same sex relationships. It has also protected the 2 year old son in which Hope and Brown were now permitted to give their child a family policy for his future. Therefore, the reforms th at have occurred in the past decade have been successful as it has given some rights and obligations towards same sex relationships. In NSW 241 300, reports were made about concerns of childââ¬â¢s or young personââ¬â¢s safety according to the Special Commission of Inquiry into child protection services NSW. The concern of the protection and care of both children and individual members under both the Family Law Act 1975 (Cwth) and the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) is the increasing rate of family neglect, abuse and domestic violence. This issue is rapidly increasing each year as the crime rate of children has increased to 70% of young children committing crime due to being neglected or abused in reference to Australian Bureau Statistics (ABS). The government has made numerous amendments and reforms to the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW) e. g. Crimes (Domestic Violence) Amendment Act 1987 (NSW), due to increased domestic violence cases within the domestic household. Over the years there have been a number of cases where family members have suffered domestic violence which has resulted in some of them murdering their husbands or partners, e. g. R v Heather Osland 1996 (VIC). Therefore, the legal system has shown how further amendments and reforms can protect individual family members effectively. But the government needs to step up and focus on providing more resources and funds to smaller organisations e. g. Docs. The government has created the Department of Community Services (DOCs) under the Children Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998. This organization helps protect children who are suffering abuse or neglect. Majority of the time Docs have overseen incidentsââ¬â¢ and have failed to report any sort of child abuse, neglect or domestic violence. As shown recently in 2012 August 03 in the Sydney Morning Herald (SHM) ââ¬ËAbuse Children were ignored by a welfare workerââ¬â¢. The Department of Community Services have failed to protect and prevent children from harm due to being under resourced and not having the adequate resources to protect children. The Australian government should provide efficient resources e. g. having more people involved with better wages in protecting minors. This would therefore be more effective in protecting children and their rights. Without this new reform in the legal system it will increase the number of children who are in great harm, as recently seen in the media ââ¬ËEbony reportââ¬â¢- ââ¬Å"reveals history of Docs neglectâ⬠. For individual members to feel safe and protected the law has added extra provisions on the Crimes (Domestic Violence) Amendment Act 1982 which amended the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW), has included victims who suffer from domestic violence have the right to seek AVOââ¬â¢s. Many people do not fulfill their responsibility towards their children and sometimes having a divorce within the family can cause major conflicts and struggles on the couple, and most importantly the child. As the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOSCAR) shows that inadequate parenting is associated with child neglect, to some extent these are the strongest predictors of juvenile crime as 36% of young people are cautioned. One of the most serious of these cases are children having the thought of committing suicide. As seen in one of the most recent cases Merrett and BASS 2013. This demonstrates how the strenuous tension between a couple can have on child. As a parent they have the responsibility to ensure that their child receives an education and to discipline their child. In the re Marion (1991) it demonstrates how the child had no right or say in her medical procedures. Therefore, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children (CROC) has not been effective as it has not been ratified, which therefore it hasnââ¬â¢t protected the childââ¬â¢s best interest. One of the most recent reforms to the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1988 (NSW) is that if a child has broken the law e. g. underage drinking or damages on property, the parents are penalized for their childââ¬â¢s actions. Another reform that has shown to ineffective is the introduction of the Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) Act 2006 (Cth), this reform involves the equal custody of the child. However, this isnââ¬â¢t always the case as the child may end up back with their abusive parent as seen in the Whitehead v Storn. The court system has shown to have responded to many issues of different areas of family law however, some of the attempts of reforms have demonstrated to be ineffective. These are merely a few of the reported instances and results of spousal maltreatment. Fischer and Rose suggest that adult females may go forth buffeting relationships in a figure of ways, one of which may be using the aid of the legal system through a tribunal order of protection ( 1 ) . When affecting the legal system, it adds an extra consensus in the decision-making procedure ( Fischer and Rose 1 ) . # 8220 ; Obtaining a tribunal order of protection involves a two-step procedure # 8221 ; ( Fisher and Rose 1 ) . First, the victim is granted a shot-term restraining order ; following, the victim must return to tribunal to obtain a more lasting order. One of the major barriers to obtaining orders of protection is fear.
